Frances Avery was born in Kitchner, Ontario. This wonderfully
articulated genre scene, rich with warm summer colors, somewhat folk in style,
depicts gentility; a leisure way of life. This family and friends are playing
together-lawn tennis, croquet, reading under a tree, evoking strong
memories.
