Born in Ragaz, Switzerland, Otto Botto studied throughout Europe. He came to
the United States in 1922 and quickly achieved recognition in the American art
world. His paintings have been exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the
Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Institute of
Chicago and the Carnegie Institute. He has taught at the Brooklyn Museum and is
represented in many private collections.
